About Energy Community Heating and Cooling Network

NETWORK OF HEATING AND COOLING PRACTITIONERS, REGULATORY BODIES, POLICY MAKERS, FINANCING INSTITUTIONS, DONORS

Heating and cooling represents a very large energy consumption in buildings (approx 70%) and increasing the efficiency of production, transportation and use can bring large benefits to comfort, health, emissions and households welfare.

The Energy Community Acquis regulates heating and cooling in Energy Efficiency Directive, Energy Performance in Buildings Directive, Renewable Energy Directive.

Implementation of the Energy Community Treaty requires ongoing cooperation between national institutions, organizations, industry and civil society. This can either take place in the context of the Energy Community institutional framework, or on the basis of initiatives focusing on specific policy issues.

Having in view that the Energy Community institutional setting does not provide a distinct platform for heating and cooling experts to exchange views, good practices, project initiation from the outset, the Secretariat started this initiative of creating a web Network as a communication and collaboration platform open to participants and partners.

The Secretariat will play the facilitator’s role, maintaining the web page, updating information, moderating discussion fora, featuring case studies, etc.
