Joint GIZ and Energy Community Carbon Pricing Training Series

The Energy Community Secretariat and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) are kicking off their Carbon Pricing Training Series in January 2022.

District heating companies of Contracting Parties using fossil fuels and emitting GHG emissions, as well as other energy companies, will be eventually subject to carbon pricing. In the European Union, emissions form district heating are covered, along with electricity generation and other energy-intensive industries, by the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).

By adopting the Decarbonization Roadmap, the Energy Community recently set out its intention to make progress in agreeing to a carbon pricing system for its Contracting Parties.

Energy Community stakeholders’ knowledge on designing and implementing carbon pricing schemes in their jurisdictions will be improved in the course of five webinars organised by the Secretariat and GIZ.

Join the training, it’s free-of-charge!
