To investigate eco-friendlier heating solutions for Pljevlja compared to the current inefficient wood and lignite-based system, Bankwatch engaged consultants to analyse cost-effectiveness of several scenarios, including expansion of the district heating system to the wider territory of the municipality. The study concludes that, with proper incentives, constructing large solar thermal collector fields for district heating would provide the greatest environmental improvements.
